EastEnders star leaves fans gutted after her live theatre show is cancelled just days before she hits the stage
AN EASTENDERS star has left fans gutted after scrapping her live theatre show.
The actress, whose character was bludgeoned to death by troublemaking Ben Mitchell in 2012, was set to take to the stage at Lytham Hall, Lancashire, on October 12.
Yet Cheryl Fergison, 59, who played EastEnders‘ loveable Heather Trott, has now taken to her TikTok page to break the sad news to her followers.
Sitting in her car wearing a blue coat, she spoke directly to the camera as she told how the intimate gig will be rescheduled for January.
She put it down to an “unforeseen circumstance, nothing more nothing less.”
She added: “I hope to see everybody next year in January.
“For those that have already booked you will be refunded.
“It’s a shame I know, I was looking forward to it as well.
“But I’ll see you again soon, it will be at Lytham Hall at some point.
“And that’s it, I’m terribly sorry it’s not happening this Saturday.
“Lots of love.”
She then added: “It is a great show by the way, we did Peterborough last week and it was fantastic, so Lytham’s time will come.”
The write-up on the Lytham Hall website teases Cheryl’s stage show and promises: “As you will see from the nights stories and surprises there is more to her than the fun loving George Michael, cheeses eating, karaoke singing, character from that southern of soaps … with a career standing four decades you will enjoy a taster of this wonderful world called showbiz with a few surprises and prizes along the way.”
Cheryl’s soap character, Heather, was a fan favourite on EastEnders until her untimely demise.
She never chose to leave the programme, and the decision was made by EastEnders executives.

He played Stacey Slater’s brother Sean Slater from 2006 to 2009, he has starred in Hollywood blockbusters Pacific Rim and Captain Marvel.
Ben Hardy, who quit EastEnders as Bobby Beale almost a decade ago, went on to break Hollywood the following year, when he starred as Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Since then, he has played Roger Taylor in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, and he starred in Michael Bay’s Netflix movie 6 Underground.
Michelle Ryan played Zoe Slater until 2005.
She starred as the lead in short-lived American series Bionic Woman from 2007 to 2008.
At the time, a source told The Sun: “Heather’s character has been hugely popular over the years, but the decision has been taken to cut her out of the show before viewers tire of her.”
NEW ROLE
We recently reported how Cheryl has bagged a brand new acting role after struggling to bag new acting gigs following her stint in Walford.
She is now set to star in this year’s pantomime production of Cinderella at The Cresset Theatre.
The actress will be playing the Fairy Godmother during the festive season from December 14 to 31 2024.
It came after the screen star revealed a crippling new health battle after being diagnosed with womb cancer.
She found out she had the disease nine years ago.
In a candid chat on Loose Women, she said the impact of the diagnosis resulted in her developing a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
This transpired as repetitive washing of her hands and parts of her body.
Previously, Cheryl admitted there were times when she questioned if she would survive her cancer diagnosis.
She told the Mirror: “There were some dark moments when I thought: ‘am I going to die?’
“Am I going to leave my husband without a wife, my son without a mum?
“But I am strong and I’d knock those thoughts away. I was determined that it wasn’t going to beat me.”
Cheryl finally got the all clear last year and is now urging women to listen to their bodies and investigate anything that doesn’t feel right.
