‘Lingerie is NOT a costume’ people rage as Oh Polly drops their VERY revealing Halloween outfits – so would you wear it?
SOME people go down the funny and gory route, while others seize the opportunity to don a sexy ensemble.
And if you’re a Halloween fan in the latter category, you might want to head to Oh Polly.
The clothing company have caused a stir with their latest range – titled Under a Spell – and have been sharing snaps of some of the offerings on their social media pages.
In a recent post on Instagram, they suggested three different looks for the spooky occasion, using a male and female model to sport the ensembles.
The first saw the man wearing a black suit, white shirt and eye mask, as he held out his hand to his date for the night.
She then came into the shot, wearing a corseted bodysuit with an eye-wateringly high cut on the leg.
She teamed the one-piece with a pair of lace gloves, headdress and heels.
For the next outfit, the man was once again wearing his suit and shirt, although he’d swapped his mask for a Batman one.
And the woman was obviously going for a Catwoman style vibe, as she sported an all-in-one lace jumpsuit, with heels and a tiny cat headband.
The third look was arguably the most wearable of them all, as the woman changed into a puffball strapless black minidress.
Despite being daringly short, the dress offered the most coverage of all three of the outfits.
She wore it with some cowboy boots, and toted a stetson, while her man had swapped his suit for jeans and a T-shirt, with boots, a belt and a cowboy hat.
“Coordinate with your partner this spooky season,” they captioned their Instagram post.

But the comments section was immediately filled with people taking offense at the woman’s incredibly revealing wardrobe.
“Isn’t there a costume where the girl doesn’t have to be half naked?” one raged.
“Lingerie is not a costume,” another added.
“There. I said it.

SHOP ON NOV 1: Be organised and bag the bargains for next year by hitting the shops the day after Halloween. Remember to buy your kids’ costumes a size larger to allow for growth.

“Is the Halloween party at a sex club? Wtf is this nonsense?” someone else wondered.
“Wearing a little headpiece doesn’t make a costume,” another pointed out.
“This is embarrassing at this point,” someone else agreed.
“Absolutely not,” another yelled.
“Why is everything sl*tified these days.
“And you wonder why girls don’t have any confidence when you’ve got half naked girls like this everywhere.
“JUST STOP!”
As others pointed out the inequality between the man being fully covered in all three outfits, while the woman was definitely not.
“Why isn’t he half naked? Why is it always the girl being oversexualised?” one wrote.
“The man fully covered and the women practically naked as always,” another sighed.
“I wonder if Oh Polly will read all these comments and actually listen,” a third commented.
“We don’t want to wear underwear for Halloween!”
