Who is Dean on Big Brother 2024? Meet the East London barber who is ‘already famous’ from a past TV appearance
EVERY year Big Brother welcomes a brand new batch of weird and wonderful people from all walks of life.
Part of the 2024 line-up of housemates is Dean, who has already had a taste of fame before.
Dean is a 35-year-old barber who hails from East London.
He has now ditched cutting hair and trimming beards to take part in Big Brother 2024
Speaking about why he wanted to be on the OG reality show, Dean told ITV: “I’ve been a fan for the longest time.
“I’ve wanted to do it from the age of 11 and never had the confidence to do it.
“As I got older, I was still obsessed with the show and as soon as it came back it was ‘this is my time to apply’.
“I really want to have a great time and experience everything that Big Brother has to offer – the highs, the lows, the good, the bad, the fun, the not so fun. I want it all.”
Reality TV past
The Sun revealed how in 2014, Dean starred in Channel 4’s The Island with Bear Grylls.
The reality show sees contestants placed on remote island as a test of their survival skills.
Dean lived completely alone as he filmed himself on the island.
All he had to survive with was the clothes he was wearing, and basic tools and training.
Viewers saw him live on the uninhibited island of Isla Gibraleón, which is one of the Pearl Islands off the coast of Panama.
Fast forward a decade, and Dean is hoping for a second chance at fame on Big Brother.
Becoming a Big Brother housemate
Dean headed into the Big Brother compound, along with 15 others, on October 6, 2024.
Before entering the house, he said: “I’m going to bring good energy, good vibes, some fun, some love, some charismatic charm.

“I’m just going to be me and that’s the only thing I know how to do.
Asked why he get put up for eviction by his fellow housemates, Dean said: “I’ll probably be nominated because I can be annoying.
“Sometimes if there’s a silence I like to fill it. I’ll probably get nominated for talking too much.”
He went on: “On first impressions, people normally think I’m a bit of an a******e.
“What’s surprising though is that I am genuinely like a mum.
“I’m caring, loving and have a massive heart. I’m a big softie.”
