Fabrizio Romano says Spurs are ‘very happy’ with starlet’s progress on loan
After an incredible performance in his latest game out on loan, it has been claimed that Tottenham are very happy with how one of their most exciting young talents is developing this season.
Vuskovic coming on leaps and bounds this season
Spurs landed the signing of Luka Vuskovic last summer, and it seems the only downside to that deal is that the club will have to wait until next year to actually see the young Croatian in London.
After a decent loan spell in Poland last season, the centre-half has linked up with Belgian side KVC Westerlo for the 2024/25 campaign, and it’s safe to say he is absolutely flying.
A strong start to the season got even better over the weekend, with Vuskovic scoring two goals in a man-of-the-match display against Beerschot.
Commenting on what he has heard about the player’s progress and how Spurs feel about him at the moment, Fabrizio Romano suggested the Lilywhites are delighted with how things are going now.
He tweeted: “Tottenham are very happy with Luka Vuskovic’s development now on loan at Westerlo in Belgium. 17-year-old defender has scored a brace last night and he can now count for goals already.”
The numbers say it all
Vuskovic’s latest performance wasn’t just about the goals he scored. The defender put in a commanding display at the back, winning all but one of his duels, making seven ball recoveries, two clearances, and one interception (FotMob).
Perhaps most pleasing to Ange Postecoglou when thinking about his attacking mindset, Vuskovic registered 12 touches in the opposition box, and made 20 passes into the final third.
Next move is crucial for Vuskovic
If Spurs can get the next decision right for Vuskovic, and send him to a suitable club on loan for next season, we could be looking at a top, top centre-back developing here. I’d be tempted to get him playing in the Championship, so he can experience the English game, before stepping up with us after.
