Who is Khaled on Big Brother 2024? Meet the Palestinian-Lebanese sales manager from Manchester
KHALED is the latest contestant trying to win the public’s hearts in the Big Brother house.
The ITV show is known for its scandalous moments and iconic fights, but Khaled has said he is prepared to take a more philosophical approach and is willing to jump “into the unknown”.
Life in Manchester
Khaled is 23 years old and grew up in Manchester, where he works as a sales manager.
He was born in Lebanon and came to the UK as a refugee, which he said is an experience that taught him the importance of family.
Khaled is actually a big brother himself to two younger brothers.
He has said that he is very close to his family and that his two younger siblings are the “reason that I live”.
The star wants to highlight his dual Palestinian and Lebanese heritage
He said: “I’m Lebanese and Palestinian and I thought this would be a great platform to discuss it from the point of view of someone that grew up in the west and has Middle Eastern heritage.”
Khaled also shared that, if he won the show, he would donate some money to Palestine and to Lebanon.
A romantic and not a celebrity
Khaled admitted that he didn’t even know what Big Brother was before applying; he thought the show was a programme about carers.
The newly-famous TV star said that he has “no interest in being famous” since he is a romantic at heart.
He thinks that “modern dating has gone down the bin”, since dating apps have made romance feel like searching on Uber Eats.
Instead, Khaled thinks he takes more of a philosophical approach to life.
He said: “I’m very honest.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve.
“I’m really into Adlerian Psychology and Philosophy – Socrates, Plato – which you wouldn’t expect from a guy who gets punched in the head for a living.
“I’ll bring an insightfulness from someone who’s had a particularly unique background growing up in the UK.”
Big Brother kicks off
The 2024 series of Big Brother kicked off on Sunday October, 6, 2024, but fans can catch up with the first episode on ITVX.
The show will then air nightly (except on Saturdays) as the public votes out each contestant one-by-one.
They will be watched 24-hours-a-day on the cameras hidden around the house and will face challenges to win luxury items.
