Live 49ers updates: Niners lead Cardinals but key injuries could impact second half
The 49ers will look to earn their first win over an NFC West division rival this year Sunday as they face Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
Active for the Niners are two All-Pros who were questionable entering Sunday’s game after missing two practices last week: tight end George Kittle (ribs) and linebacker Fred Warner (ankle). Warner missed the second half of last week’s 30-13 win over the Patriots after suffering his injury, and Kittle also picked up his injury in that game.
Kittle has already missed one game this season, the 49ers’ loss to the Rams last month, with a hamstring injury.
The Niners will be battling the Cardinals and the elements at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon: Santa Clara is expected to hit 99 degrees for the hottest game ever played at the stadium. The 49ers requested early this week to switch from their red home jerseys to all-white throwback uniforms to reflect the sunlight, but the NFL denied the move. They will wear white pants, though.
Brock Purdy looks to continue his strong start to the season against an Arizona team that allows the NFL’s highest completion percentage at 78.6. He enters Sunday No. 3 in the NFL with 282.5 passing yards per game.
