Meet Niall Gray: Strictly: It Takes Two host and TikTok star
NIALL Gray is a TikTok superstar and Capital FM presenter whose popularity continues to rise.
He recently signed onto Strictly: It Takes Two, a BBC programme that takes viewers behind the scenes of the biggest dancefloor on TV.
The star has had a meteoric rise to fame, but things were not always easy for Niall.
The capital FM presenter has opened up about his struggle in trying to get discovered.
Early life
Not much is known about Niall’s early life, but he has said that most of his family live in Essex.
His father is a firefighter and both his mum and sister work in property.

He has said that TV and radio have always been his goal, but his family were nervous about how much Niall would earn if he chased his dreams.
Getting discovered
When Niall was 22, he moved to Brighton to work at the Capital FM office in the beachside city.
He was discovered by someone who worked at Heart Radio, who had seen his interviews and videos on YouTube.
As of 2024, the radio presenter has been working at Capital FM for six years and admitted that success can be a combination of talent and luck.
When asked about giving advice to people getting into creative jobs, he told The Times: “I would say just put yourself out there and be in the right place at the right time.”
TikTok superstardom
Niall’s fame has exploded on TikTok, thanks to the funny videos that he posts on the social media platform.
His often collaborates with fellow TikTok creator Imogen Andrews, where they parody British TV shows from This Morning to A Place in the Sun.
Niall has even partnered with advertising companies on his TikTok account.
He said: “The first time I worked on a TikTok brand campaign, I got paid the same for that one campaign as I did in a whole year of being self-employed.”
He did share that he has turned down some work, which included vape and condom adverts.
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two
Niall has signed onto Strictly’s behind-the-scenes show Strictly: It Takes Two.
He will be reporting on all of the shocking details that don’t make it into the Saturday night programme.
Speaking about joining the show, he says: “I’m really excited to be the backstage reporter for It Takes Two!
“Getting up close with all the behind the scenes action – it’s going to be great fun.
As a Strictly fan I cannot wait to bring all the backstage gossip to the viewers!”
