Isreal strikes Hezbollah Intel HQ in Lebanon, Iran vows not to back down
Israel announced it had targeted Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut and was assessing the damage after a series of strikes on senior Hezbollah figures. Iran’s Supreme Leader dismissed the attacks as counterproductive.
Israel is considering its options following Iran’s ballistic missile attack earlier this week, which was carried out in response to Israel’s military action in Lebanon, reported by Reuters.

Witnesses reported hearing explosions and seeing smoke over Beirut’s southern suburbs on Saturday, with the Israeli military issuing multiple evacuation alerts for residents in Burj al-Barajneh, Choueifat, and Haret Hreik.
Hezbollah issued a statement confirming ongoing clashes between its forces and the Israeli army in the southern town of Odaisseh as Israel attempted an infiltration.
U.S. President Joe Biden said he would consider alternatives to striking Iranian oil fields if he were in Israel’s position while also stating that no administration has done more for Israel than his.
Lebanon’s government claims more than 2,000 people have been killed in the past year, with most casualties occurring in the last two weeks. The UN called the civilian toll “totally unacceptable.”
Israel continues to argue that it targets military capabilities while taking measures to minimize civilian harm, though Lebanon accuses Israel of targeting civilians.
The U.S. State Department reported the death of an American citizen in Lebanon this week due to Israeli airstrikes, expressing concern over civilian harm and calling on Israel to take precautions.
Since October 7, over 41,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Israeli strikes.
The ongoing conflict between Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran continues to escalate, with rising civilian casualties and widespread displacement. Both international bodies and governments are calling for greater efforts to avoid harm to civilians.
