Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘leading separate lives’ as Duke ‘turns his back on Hollywood’, claims PR expert
THEY moved to the US together to start a new life away from the royal family, but it seems Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are now “leading separate lives” when it comes to their work.
Despite initially working together on a series of projects when first arriving in the States four years ago, more recently the pair have taken very different paths, with Meghan launching a lifestyle brand and Prince Harry concentrating on his charity work.
Earlier this week, 40-year-old Harry arrived in London without his wife for the WellChild Awards held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
Less than 24 hours later, he arrived in southern Africa – again without Meghan – to meet with Sentebale, a charity which supports young people affected by HIV.
It is the 10th solo trip Harry has made without Meghan in 12 days, with the prince also attending Kevin Costner ‘s One805Live! charity concert event in California and the 14th Concordia Annual Summit in support of The Diana Award in New York.
Meanwhile, Meghan, 42, is putting her energy into more personal projects.
She has been preparing for the official launch of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, with sources saying the Duchess is “excited about her latest personal venture” and it “will reflect everything that she loves – family, cooking, entertaining and home decor.”
The mum-of-two has also added handbag brand Cesta Collective to her small portfolio of female led businesses she has invested in.
Her first investment was in vegan instant latte company Clevr Brands and even appeared in an advert for their coffee range.
And while it seems the pair are now on different pages when it comes to their careers, brand expert Denise Palmer-Davies, managing director of PR company Borne Media, says their strategy might pay off.
Speaking to Fabulous, she said: “Harry certainly seems to have turned his back on Hollywood.
“They tried the joint deals with Netflix and Spotify and they didn’t work out.
“Meghan seems to love the bright lights of Hollywood, attending glitzy showbiz events and rubbing shoulders with the A-List, but for Harry, he is only really interested if it’s for charity.
“It’s when he looks most comfortable.
“Granted Meghan does do a lot for charity, she has invested in brands that are ethical and support women, but for Harry his charity work is almost like a vocation.
“He seems happiest when he is presenting awards for good causes, rather than being by Meghan’s side on the red carpet.

“When they are together for work it is a reminder of all the hurt and chaos that came with Megxit, but when they are working separately it seems to land better brand wise.
“Harry can carry on with his charity work without it being overshadowed by what Meghan is wearing, and she can continue on the showbiz circuit to help push her lifestyle brand.
“I don’t think leading separate lives in terms of their work is a bad thing.
“They each need to fulfil their own needs and passion and actually having different careers and dreams is healthy.”
MEGXIT TERMS
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced on January 8, 2020, they would be stepping down as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family.
On January 18 it was announced that the Sussexes would “no longer be working members of Britain’s Royal Family”, and would not use their “Royal Highness” titles.
A Palace spokeswoman said the couple would no longer receive public money and that they would repay the £2.4million cost of refurbishing their cottage — Frogmore — in Windsor, Berks.
The following day, Harry said in a heartfelt speech: “Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible.”
The Duke of Sussex said he had found the “love and happiness I had hoped for all my life” with Meghan.
