Best moments of ‘Survivor 47’ episode 3: Tensions rise at camp and Rome plays an idol
The third episode of “Survivor 47” aired on Wednesday night, concluding with host Jeff Probst snuffing out the torch of Aysha Welch. The 32-year-old from Texas was the third castaway sent home after being voted out by the Lavo tribe. But did they make the right decision? And what were the dumbest, most shocking, and most exciting moments of this episode?

Top 5 Moments of Episode 3:
1. Kyle Learns a Lesson: The confusion from Kyle Ostwald after Tribal Council was priceless and the perfect way to start this episode. Tuku pulling off a blindside of epic proportions this early in the season was not on my “Survivor” bingo card. Welcome to the game, sir! Trust nobody.
2. Camp Life: At Gata, tension mounted between Anika Dhar and Sam Phalen because Anika is a control freak and Sam is ready to vote her out. While opposites attracting may be a Hollywood cliché, this is not that and even Andy Rueda could see that this tension could lead to an opening for his own safety in the game. His ability to gain trust with Sierra Wright also was impressive. Maybe he is not a lost cause after all? Also, the fact that Sam never had watermelon and a few yummy foods before blew his tribe’s mind, which was hilarious. Meanwhile, at Lavo, there was just enough camaraderie to feel safe while Jerome “Rome” Cooney drove everyone insane. Snaps for Rome for making himself useful, but purposely pushed buttons, nonetheless. Last, but not least, Tuku saw strategy with Kyle targeting Gabe Ortis after the latter began targeting his own friends. Sue Smey did not trust him though.
3. A Journey: With Kyle, Anika, and Rome going off on a journey…we were guaranteed a good time as the trio got along extremely well and exposed information. After a one-in-three chance at gaining an advantage or losing their vote, the results varied as Kyle and Anika both lost their votes and Rome gained an advantage in the form of stealing another player’s vote at Tribal Council. Between his idol and this, he is building quite a treasure chest of goodies. Anika was dishonest with her tribe, but did tell her alliance members the truth. Kyle told everyone the truth. Rome on the other hand lied his butt off, but did end up telling a few alliance members the truth.
4. Immunity At Stake: This challenge started off with a close race, but it soon became clear that a weak link would spell disaster at some point. Andy was semi-impressive but took forever on the balance beam. Kishan Patel was not great in this one either, but his optimistic attitude was infectious, so I gave him a pass. In the end, the puzzle always proves to be an equalizer with Gata and Tuku emerging victorious. Lavo was Tribal Council bound and I could not wait to see how this all would pan out.
5. A Memorable Tribal Council: At camp, everything was calm with a few targets (Genevieve Mushaluk, Kishan, Solomon “Sol” Yi, and Aysha Welch) on the chopping block. Rome realized it had to be Sol since that was a player that would equal his energy level in finding the next idol, as he was going to play his existing one. Aysha remained intent on getting Genevieve out. After what can only be described as calm chaos and Rome playing his idol, Aysha was sent home.
