Strictly star rushed to hospital as she’s hit by ‘rashes and shooting pains’
A STRICTLY star has been rushed to hospital as she was hit by ‘rashes and shooting pains.’
Saffron Barker, 24, shared some updates with her legion of fans from her bed, as she said there were fears she’d caught a tropical disease.
The popular podcast and YouTube star wrote: “Thank you so much for all your well wishes, after a week I finally feel somewhat normal again.
“The doctors thought I’d caught a tropical disease from a mosquito when I was away.”
Saffron spoke about her symptoms, adding: “I had all the symptoms being, rashes all over my body, headache, body aches, shooting pains in my body, temperature, sore throat and ears etc.”
In a separate shot, Saffron uploaded a look at her arm with a tube attached, as she revealed: “After getting my bloods taken turns out I didn’t have that but my white blood cells were half the number they should be so very low and therefore my whole body was trying to fight the infection.”
Saffron then shared a video of her arms and told fans: “This is what the rashes looked like all over my body.”
Luckily, the Stricty star appears to be on the road to recovery, as she posted again from the bath.
Saffron shared: “Today is the first day I have woken up and they are settling so feeling grateful.”
This is the second time this year that Saffron has had to seek medical help.
In January, Saffron sparked concern amongst fans after revealing she injured herself.
The YouTuber was enjoying a skiing holiday before a nasty fall resulted in medics rushing to her aide.
Posting on Instagram, Saffron told her followers she fell in the snow on the first day of her trip.
The 24-year-old could be seen lying in the snow while an emergency team checked her out.
She was then taken down by a stretcher before being medically assessed off the slopes.
Saffron said: “Well this isnt how i planned to ise this sound – storytime is needed…”
Worried fans flooded her with well wishes as one wrote: “Oh saff it would be you, i hope your okay though keep us updated my love.”
A second said: “Bad luck. Get well soon.”
While a third wrote: “Oh sweetheart sending you lots of love xx.”
Saffron is a YouTube star from Brighton born on July 24, 2000.
She shot to fame through her popular videos on the social media platform and is known for In My Day with Saffron Barker.
Saffron also has had her own clothing line at Primark.
She joined Strictly 2019, and was partnered with AJ Pritchard.
