General Hospital star Ron Hale dies at 78 as show pays tribute to an ‘incredible actor and unforgettable colleague’
GENERAL Hospital star Ron Hale has died at the age of 78.
The actor, who played Mike Corbin on the popular ABC drama series, died on August 27 in St. George, South Carolina, according to an online obit.

Tributes have been paid to the Emmy-nominated actor as news of his death emerged.
“The entire General Hospital Family is saddened to hear of Ron Hale’s passing,” said the show in an X post.
“We would like to extend our condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
“He was an incredible actor and an unforgettable colleague. May he rest in peace.”
Fellow General Hospital actor Billy Warlock, who also appeared in the hit show Days of Our Lives, was among the screen stars that paid tribute to Hale.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we’ve lost another great one,” he said on X.
“Ron was an amazing talent and an even better friend. I will miss you.”
Jon Lindstrom, a four-time Emmy-nominated actor, recalled his memories of Hale.
He revealed his favorite memory was sitting with him on a Los Angeles-New York flight with the fitness guru Richard Simmons in front.
Hale also starred in the TV series Port Charles between 1997 and 2000, starring in 46 episodes.
He also played Dr. Roger Coleridge in the hit TV series Ryan’s Hope between 1975 and 1989.
The actor received two Daytime Emmy nominations for his role on the show in 1979 and 1980.
Hale appeared in the 1976 thriller All the Presidents Men – a movie that revolved around the Watergate scandal.
His illustrious acting career also saw him star in shows such as Matlock.
Hale’s career spanned 50 years and his final role was in the 2017 movie The Ghost and The Whale.
Hale married his wife Dood Hale in 1972 but she died in 1989.
The actor, who was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, never remarried and is survived by his nieces and nephews.
