Man injured after falling from third floor to avoid arrest
A brawl in a Nicosia apartment led to the injury of a 31-year-old, who climbed off a third-floor balcony to avoid being arrested.
At around 8.30pm on Wednesday, police were notified that people were fighting in a Nicosia block of flats.
Police found three men, aged 31, 27 and 26, in a third-floor apartment, attacking a 34-year-old man.
The police officers intervened to help the 34-year-old and arrested two men, aged 27 and 26.
The 31-year-old tried to get away along with two other people at the scene.
Police said the 31-year-old tried to shimmy down the drainpipe and fell, injuring himself.
The 31-year-old was taken to the Nicosia general hospital, where he is being treated in the ICU in critical condition.
Police are investigating the incident.
