‘Survivor 47’ episode 3 recap: Who was voted out in ‘Belly of the Beast’? [LIVE BLOG]

Heading into the third episode of “Survivor 47,” the blue Tuku tribe had just voted out Terran “TK” Foster in a 4-to-2 vote over Sue Smey (only TK and Kyle Ostwald voted the wrong way). That resulted in Tuku and Gata being even at five tribe members apiece, while Lavo was still standing strong with their original six contestants. So who ended up having their torch snuffed on Wednesday night?

Below, read our minute-by-minute “Survivor 47” Episode 3 recap/live blog of “Belly of the Beast” to find out what happened on October 2, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Then be sure to sound off in the comments section about your favorite castaways on CBS’s reality TV show, who annoys you the most and who you think will ultimately join the “Survivor” winners list and take home the $1 million grand prize. Jeff Probst once again hosts and produces the program.

Here are the current “Survivor 47” tribe breakdowns (click on each name to be brought to their individual profiles):

GATA: Andy Rueda, Anika Dhar, Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, Sierra Wright

LAVO: Aysha Welch, Genevieve Mushaluk, Kishan Patel, Rome Cooney, Solomon “Sol” Yi, Teeny Chirichillo

TUKU: Caroline Vidmar, Gabe Ortis, Kyle Ostwald, Sue Smey, Tiyana Hallums

8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” In the second episode, Andy found Gata’s Beware Advantage but decided not to take it. Later, he realized it was gone and let Sam know, unaware of the fact that Sam had already found it and retrieved the idol. Later, Gata and Lavo won the combined challenge (immunity and fishing gear reward), which meant Tuku had to visit tribal council. While TK and Kyle believed Sue was the easy boot, Tiyana didn’t like TK’s attitude and decided to turn on him, resulting in a major blindside. Sixteen castaways remain. Who will be voted out tonight?

8:02 p.m. – The morning after their tribal council, Gabe explained that watching “way too many people” go home with an idol in their pocket last season was part of the reason why he decided to use his, perhaps prematurely, at his first chance. He also appreciated that he had “no more secrets to keep” among his tribe. Kyle was the only one that fell outside of the majority vote in his attempt to get Sue out, putting him on Sue’s bad side immediately and making her feel like she’d need to get revenge.

8:06 p.m. – After a rough morning of no sleep, the Gata tribe was at odds about how to approach the camp life aspect of the game. Some wanted to figure out their shelter to improve their sleeping situation while Sam was more concerned about taking advantage of their new fishing kit at the right time in order to secure some source of food. Sam was getting frustrated by a sense that Anika was trying to control the movements of the tribe, but he didn’t want to come across as pissed off as he was actually getting. Andy was aware enough to notice that the two were coming to odds though and described it as a “Survivor wall” that they were hitting – this was the crack in the tribe he needed to feel like he could make it through another vote.

8:14 p.m. – Over at Lavo, Rome was primed and ready to go out in the water to catch fish in order to tick the box of another of his bucket list. He was confident about the task at hand, but completely oblivious to the fact that he was hogging the fishing gear and speaking about in a way that rubbed his entire tribe the wrong way. From Rome’s perspective, he was equally frustrated because the other members of the tribe weren’t helping him clean or prepare the fish at all. Because of that, he took it upon himself to eat a larger portion of the fish he caught specifically in front of Aysha because he doesn’t see her as an alliance member.

8:19 p.m. – Hoping to “gain a majority” with Sam and Sierra, Andy wanted to connect with Sierra. He thought that promising his Shot in the Dark to Sierra was a sign of trust he could give to show that he wants to maintain his vote so that the three of them would be a block of votes to overpower the other two.

8:21 p.m. – With TK out, Gabe was concerned with keeping Kyle in the game because he sees him as someone he can control for future votes without worrying about him turning against his alliance. He told Kyle that Tiyana is the one that should go next because Sue and Caroline are a duo that would bring them two votes instead of Tiyana’s one. Kyle didn’t want to go against Tiyana though and so he decided to take what Gabe told him to go after him instead. Kyle approached the three women to tell them that Gabe is calling Sue and Caroline “his goats,” but Sue shut down the conversation to keep “positive tribe vibes” instead of bringing in “negative thoughts.” Kyle couldn’t understand why she would be irritated at him for bringing her useful information.

8:24 p.m. – Boats arrived on the three beaches that afternoon with an invitation for one member to get on the boat for a journey. Kyle was selected at Tuku, Anika volunteered at Gata, and Rome earned the right to go for Lavo.

8:29 p.m. – At the site of their journey, Kyle informed Anika and Rome that they voted TK out and Rome expressed a ton of joy because he perceived him as a cocky player. Anika let it out that Sam and Sierra “kinda made a really tight bond” and Rome said that Aysha and Sol are “running the show” at Lavo. Rome also expressed that he felt like he was on the bottom of his tribe so he hoped that targets would be on Sol and Aysha when they take that information back to the other tribes.

8:31 p.m. – The players met their task individually instead of together. At isolated locations they were presented with three bags: one containing an advantage and two with a Lose Your Vote punishment. They’d get one pick of a bag at first and if it was a Lose Your Vote then they could attempt to choose again, but if the second Lose Your Vote is drawn instead of the advantage then they don’t get a third pick and they lose their vote for two tribal councils. On first draw, Kyle lost his vote and decided not to risk losing a second one. Anika lost her vote and decided to not risk it again. Rome drew the advantage on his first draw, earning a Steal a Vote that could prevent someone from voting and give him the power of a second vote.

8:35 p.m. – Upon return to their beaches, news that Sam and Sierra aren’t dating but are in control of the game spread like wildfire and worried Sierra for their future in the larger context. Kyle was honest about the loss of his vote, but Anika lied publicly so that she could keep the truth away from Andy. After lying, she immediately told Rachel and Sierra the truth. Rome also lied, telling them that he drew the Lose Your Vote and did not draw again, all to keep the truth from Aysha and Sol. He was honest with Teeny later who said in a confessional that it only drew her more into her alliance with him because there’s nothing they can do to counter balance it. At this point Teeny felt like Rome was being honest with her, Kishan and Genevieve and that the four of them should move forward as a group of four.

8:43 p.m. – For the next challenge, the three tribes raced up and over obstacles in the water before finishing with another puzzle. In addition to immunity, they played for reward in the form of tarps and hammocks. In the decision for sit-outs, Jeff was surprised that Kishan was going to compete for Lavo after expressing that he only recently learned to swim. Then, Sol and Rome argued about who would get to do the solo part of the challenge and because Rome insisted he could do it well and would “be mad” if he didn’t do it, Sol let him have the solo moment. The other tribes were able to agreeably decide on Andy and Kyle as their solo swimmers.

8:47 p.m. – Kyle set a quick pace for Tuku with Rome right behind him, but Andy fell behind after one failed attempt on the buoy. Andy then struggled on the balance beam, creating a dire situation for Gata as the other two tribes began to lap him, including Kishan at Lavo. When Kishan and Aysha took their balance beam slowly, Gata was able to catch up and pass them. Tuku got to the puzzle first witha significant lead over the other two tribes. Gata reached the puzzle second at the same time that Teeny fell off the beam twice and had to restart. Rachel and Anika made quick work of their puzzle, surpassing Gabe and Caroline at Tuku and eventually clinching the overall win. Tuku finished slightly after, inevitably sending Lavo to tribal council for the first time. Oddly, before leaving the site, Rome told Jeff that he’ll be “sitting like a bump on a log” at tribal council because he told his whole tribe that he lost his vote, which is a statement that Sol immediately clocked as possibly untruthful. Rome did tell them that he lost his vote, but Sol thought his behavior in this moment suggested that he might actually have his vote.

9:02 p.m. – Teeny was nervous about the looming vote because it would force her hand to show on what side of the tribe she’s truly aligned. At this point she was feeling like her and Kishan should side with Rome and Genevieve. One of the first conversations she had was with Aysha who agreed that they should focus on Genevieve this time because it would be a risk to go for Rome in case he has an advantage. Teeny told Aysha that she wants to protect her and that if Rome and Genevieve are throwing out names, she will try to keep it away from her. This was Teeny’s way of trying to get Aysha positioned to potentially work with her to go after Sol.

9:04 p.m. – As she suspected, Rome wanted to go for Aysha, but she said that Sol is a bigger threat because he’s more likely to find an advantage in the game. Rome remembered that he has to play his idol tonight and Sol could likely find it as soon as it’s put back in the game tomorrow. At one point, Sol and Rome sat down next to each other and Rome disclosed that even after 30 minutes of time to talk he was 99% sure that it’s a “done deal” for Aysha to go home. He told Sol that they’d keep him around because he’s strong, which was Rome’s way of putting Sol in a position to not want to play his Shot in the Dark. Sol questioned Rome’s intentions and suggested that it’s all a ploy to make him feel good and they could be voting for him instead.

9:07 p.m. – Rome reported to the others his conversation with Sol and told them that he is going to vote Aysha. Kishan and Teeny wanted to bring Aysha in by disclosing that Rome is going to play his idol for himself or Genevieve and that the only safe play for any of them is to vote for Sol. Aysha appreciated the trust they were placing in her, but she was set on wanting to vote Genevieve out despite the threat of Rome using the idol on her. That she was so stuck on not voting Sol out worried Kishan and Teeny which brought them back around to considering taking Aysha out instead since she’s not willing to work with them the way they need her to.

9:14 p.m. – At tribal council, the group was waffling between decisions based on alliances and those on the outside. Sol expressed paranoia that alliances he thought existed aren’t sticking together and then Kishan mentioned that he’s “strong to the core four.” Both Sol and Aysha’s ears perked up at that, but Kishan wouldn’t elaborate on who the core four actually is. Aysha likened the experience to being left out of group chat plans unexpectedly, suggesting that there were conversations she expected to be a part of earlier in the day that she wasn’t. Kishan finished the conversation by calling the cohesion they had as a facade, but then Aysha put out a warning that she hopes the person who agreed to vote with her is actually doing that.

9:20 p.m. – When Jeff asked if anyone was playing an advantage or an idol, Rome played his good-for-one-council idol for himself. Jeff read the votes: Rome, Genevieve, Sol, Aysha, Aysha, Aysha. On her way out, Aysha said “that really hurts, not gonna lie.” She then turned and asked Sol if they got to him, too, and he replied “no.”

NEXT TIME: Tensions between Sol and Rome continue to rise while the Tuku tribe find Sue with “blood everywhere.”
