Report: Hibs U18s 3-0 Hamilton
The wee Hibees continued their unbeaten start to the CAS Elite League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Hamilton on Friday night.
Logan Jimenez, Dean Cleland and Kasper Kitchin got the goals at HTC as Darren McGregor’s side dominated proceedings from start to finish.
The wee Hibees started with a good intensity, passing with purpose and looking to quickly stamp their authority on the game.
We got off to the perfect start, taking the lead after five minutes through Logan Jimenez after a well-worked move. Joseph McGrath and Aaron McSporran combined well down the right-hand side before Luke Davidson took over. Davidson took the ball to the by-line and squared it to Jimenez who prodded home from close-range to open the scoring.
We continued to enjoy large spells of possession in the opening 45 but we couldn’t add to our lead, going into half-time with a slender advantage.
Darren McGregor’s side eventually doubled their lead mid-way through the second half, courtesy of a Dean Cleland spot-kick.
The Hibs forward showed great desire to win the ball back inside Accies territory, pick-pocketing the defender before driving towards goal. A clumsy challenge brought Dean to ground and the referee pointed to the spot, with the Hibs striker picking up the ball and firing his penalty home with confidence.
We secured the points in the closing stages when Kasper Kitchin added a third. Cleland turned provider this time, latching onto a long ball over the top before unselfishly squaring it across goal. Kasper steadied himself before placing his effort in the bottom corner – rubberstamping a convincing victory and a clean sheet to match.
Up next, the wee Hibees travel to Lennoxtown to play Celtic on Friday (4 October, 2024).
