A MARRIED At First Sight UK groom admitted he was ‘really feeling’ the pressure, as he came face to face with a bride’s family for the first time.
Fans of the hit dating show will see 41-year-old Orson get married to a stranger, while his friends and family watch on.
But as he arrives at the altar, there’s no doubt Mafs groom Orson is feeling nervous for the nuptials.
One family member at the projects engineer wedding can be heard saying: “I hope there’s an ambulance out there because my anxiety is so bad.
Groom Orson can then be seen looking dapper in his suit and making his entrance into the venue as the tense music gets louder.
He says: “This is it,” as he walks into the room smiling and greets the family and friends of his bride-to-be.
Orson continues to ask: “Is everybody good?” as he faces the crowd, before turning back around shrugging and making nervous sounds.
He rubs his hands together and laughs as he tells everybody: “It’s hit me now.”
The nervous groom then repeats himself as he says: “It’s hit me now,” again.
Orson dedicated his early life to playing cricket professionally but a career-ending injury forced him to pursue a different career.
He has a two-year-old daughter and says he “puts her happiness above everything else”.
Orson said: “I want to get married as I feel that it is the only thing missing from my life.”
Married At First Sight’s new series has certainly got off to an explosive start.
In a recent episode, one groom was branded “delusional” after admitting who he thinks his bride-to-be should look like.
The E4 reality star came under fire before he even made it down the aisle after revealing his list of demands for the woman he was due to marry.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
During a discussion before the big day, he revealed he was hoping for a stunning brunette that resembled Megan Fox to strut her stuff down the aisle.
He then further described his ideal scenario as having a mixture between Megan and Brassic actress Michelle Keegan.
However, viewers were quick to call out the groom and his “breathtaking audacity” to expect his partner to look like the A-list stunners.
Hitting out online, one fan penned: “The sheer breathtaking audacity of 4/10 Adam with his ridiculous bowl cut thinking lovely 7/10 Polly isn’t good enough for him as he wants Megan Fox.”
Another added: “Seems pretty shallow if they’re expecting Megan Fox or Michelle Keegan lookalikes to walk down the aisle! get a grip …. I swear they recruit people too far too young on this show.”
A third shared: “Adam throwing names like Megan Fox and Michelle Keegan around – delusional.”
Before a fourth laughed: “Mr Bowl-head here, hoping for a Michelle Keegan or Megan Fox lookalike… Please. I beg.
“How I would love even half of the misplaced confidence some of the fellas on this show have.”
