9/23/2024: Cloudy with a few stray showers
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
A weather system approaching from the Great Lakes will bring cloudier skies to kick off the work week.
Showers will fizzle as they push through central New York, but a few could hold together into the Mohawk Valley, Catskills, and Mid-Hudson Valley. Other locations stay mostly dry, with only a few isolated pockets of light rain or drizzle.
High temperatures will peak in the upper 60's for those in the river valleys. Down towards the Catskills, where they'll have more showery activity, temperatures will struggle to get past the low 60's.
Showers fizzle around sunset, with gradually clearing skies by daybreak tomorrow. Temperatures will fall into the low 50's for most, with upper 40's in the Adirondacks, Greens, and northern Berkshires.
Tomorrow looks much better - maybe not crystal clear, but with at least partly sunny skies and highs near 70.
Rain chances ramp back up for Wednesday as another system pushes through. A few showers could linger into Thursday, as well.
The good news is that we brighten up starting Friday. With drier conditions and more breaks of sun, temperatures will rise into the low 70's.
More and more sun is expected as we progress through the weekend. Mornings may be slightly cooler, but afternoon highs remain steady in the low to mid 70's.
