Rotterdam man pleads guilty to sex crime
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office (RCDAO) announced on Friday that Travis Anderson, of Rotterdam, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act on September 19. Anderson was indicted on 39 charges in December of 2022.
As part of his plea, Anderson admitted to subjecting a woman to sexual conduct by forcible compulsion back in 2022. According to the RCDAO, Anderson was previously in an intimate relationship with the victim.
"Assistant District Attorney Antonia Edwards worked closely with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, who investigated the matter, to bring this case to a grand jury," said Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly. "The New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit analyzed several electronic items and created reports that helped corroborate the victim's timeline."
Anderson's sentencing is scheduled for December 12. The RCDAO stated that he is expected to be sentenced to seven years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision.
