The 36-year-old musician issued a remix of the K-pop girl group’s single “Supernova” on Friday (September 20).
The original track a “perfect all-kill” in K-pop, a music chart achievement in South Korea where a song simultaneously reaches No. 1 on the real-time, daily, and weekly components of iChart, and won at major music shows and topped the weekly chart for 15 consecutive weeks.
The song is featured on the group’s debut album, Armageddon – The 1st Album, and the remix is part of a 6-track remix EP called iScreaM Vol. 33 Supernova / Armageddon Remixes.

“I normally don’t do remixes but I could not resist messing with this accapella even tho the original production on this song is undefeatable,” Grimes said. “I went back to cyber twee for this and even had @angelfir_e sit behind me and stop me every time I tried to overthink the production so… it’s very grimesy.”
“I know I changed the hook but I was so shook by the lyric ‘bring no light of a dying star’ that was casually in there. Felt like it needed a moment,” she wrote on Instagram.
“rip the old grimes she wud have loved dis,” she added.
The EP features three new remixes of the album’s title track — by Flava D, 2Spade and Mount XLR — as well as the original versions of the title track and “Supernova.”
