Gridlock alert days for the United Nations General Assembly
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The Department of Transportation is issuing a warning for travelers ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.
High-level week for the UNGA kicks off on Monday and lasts through Friday. President Joe Biden is expected to speak during the General Debate that runs from Sept. 24 to the 30.
Multiple street closures are likely to cause heavy traffic throughout next week. Officials have suggested taking mass transit on these days for faster travel and to help limit congestion.

- Tuesday, September 24
- Wednesday, September 25
- Thursday, September 26
- Friday, September 27
With the holiday months not too far behind, the DOT has also issued gridlock alerts for November and December.
