Electric scooter rider killed in Pleasant Valley crash
PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place in Pleasant Valley on September 8. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on State Route 44 just east of Traver Road.
The preliminary investigation by state police revealed that a Mercedes-Benz van was heading east on Route 44 when the rider of an electric scooter reportedly entered the roadway from the south shoulder, colliding with the van. The rider, identified as Brandon Vogel, 32, of Pleasant Valley, was taken to Vassar Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
