Tottenham fans will be frustrated by what Giovani Lo Celso did this week
Giovani Lo Celso scores twice for Real Betis in his first start since the summer as the La Liga club registered a 2-1 win at home at Getafe.
Lo Celso left Tottenham this summer
Spurs parted ways with Lo Celso this summer, five years on from signing him under Mauricio Pochettino. Ironically, they sold him back to the very club they bought him from, and for a fraction of the price.
The former Tottenham man made his second debut for the club in their win over Leganes on Sunday, impressing after coming on as a substitute for the final 30 minutes of the game.
Manuel Pellegrini handed Lo Celso a start against Getafe on Wednesday, with the 28-year-old operating as the number ten behind striker Vitor Roque.
Lo Celso scores a brace for Real Betis
The Argentine made the difference for the home side, stepping up to calmly slot home a penalty on the hour mark after Getafe were adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.
14 minutes later, Lo Celso unleashed a fierce strike from the edge of the box which took a big deflection before finding its way into the back of the net.
The away side scored a late consolation in injury time to add some respectability to the scoreline. To watch the highlights of the game, click here.

Just from Lo Celso’s celebrations and his general body language, he seems like he is enjoying his football again, which was not always the case at Tottenham.
The midfielder will hope to make up for lost time and get his career back on track at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.
