Amazon slashes iconic wellies from £114 to £75 – one customer says ‘it feels like I’m wearing slippers’

AMAZON has slashed the cost of a big-name pair of wellies.

The Hunter Women’s Original Play Rain Boots have been reduced from £114 to £74.99 – just in time for the autumn.

Amazon shoppers have been raving about these discounted, short-length boots from Hunters

from £74.99 (was £114)

The Hunter Original Play Rain Boots are now on sale at Amazon, which is a very rare find because the brand is hardly ever on sale.

The sale price varies depending on the size you select, but shoppers can secure up to 37% off the ankle boots in this Amazon bargain.

These Hunter women’s wellingtons come just below the knees and are, arguably, the most iconic design from the brand.

You might have spotted pics of celebs wearing them at festivals, including Kate Moss and Alexa Chung.

But, the longer length can sometimes be restrictive for some, and maybe all they need is a pair of shorter length boots to protect from the elements.

Hunter’s Original Play Rain Boots are an ankle boot, which is perfect for the autumn, winter, even damp and drizzly spring months too.

They come just above the ankle, feature the same round toe for comfort, and are made from durable rubber to protect against cold temperatures, wind, rain and snow.

What I particularly like is the slightly elevated heel, which has a subtle touch of style but isn’t as impractical for those muddy walks as heeled boots.

This style is available to shop in UK shoe sizes 4 to 9, and as mentioned, the price varies depending on the size.

I would pair these boots with leggings and a sweatshirt for everyday autumn walks, and jeans and a chunky knit for a Sunday dog-walk.

I’ve actually worn the longer-length Hunter welly boots for years and they are the most durable pair of wellies I have ever owned.

However, the longer length can make it hard to pull them on and off, and it’s on warmer days I often feel restricted – which is why I am adding these slip-on Hunter boots to my basket.

In case you needed extra convincing, Amazon shoppers have been heapings praised on this big-brand footwear.

One happy shopper gushed: “Love these boots! I finally bought these for kayaking and the rainy weather and am shocked that a rubber boot keeps my feet warmer than any of my winter boots.”

A second enthused: “Love these boots! Comfy, practical and cute. They are my winter go-to. Some brands run super-narrow in the toe box but these fit just right.”

A separate shopper added: “Such a great quality. [The] size fits so well, heavy but very comfortable. Ready for rain.”

While another review read: “You can’t go wrong. They’re so easy to slip on and are very comfortable. Honestly feels like I’m wearing slippers.”

It’s unknown how long the Amazon sale will last for, especially on Hunter wellington boots, so you will want to shop quickly to not miss out.

My shopping list: The best fashion deals

New trends come and go, but there are some failsafe staples that survive them all, says beauty and fashion journalist Maisie Bovingdon

Shopping is my achilles heel, it gives me a hit of dopamine on down days, it makes me feel confident, and all round lifts my mood.

I have been trialling the latest #underconsumption trend and done my best to avoid shopping new items every time a new collection drops at my favourite stores.

While there are some failsafe staples I rely on day to day, and through every season, a few new additions to my ever-growing fashion collection never really hurt.
