Gamethread: White Sox at Angels
Just win one game per series the rest of the way, and the South Siders avoid at least one facet of infamy in 2024
The White Sox, ON FIRE, head to Anaheim. This three-game set starts the final long road trip of the season. It’s on to San Diego after this, then back home for the Angels, and then back out, to Detroit.
All the White Sox need to do to avoid becoming the worst team in baseball since 1899 is win one game per series/go 4-8 the rest of the way. Will they succeed?
The Angels are awful, 14th-best in the AL, worse even than the 13th-best A’s the White Sox just won a series off of.
But, putting into perspective the concept of “awful,” the White Sox are 25 1⁄2 games worse than the Angels. Hmm.

The Angels, an hour or so before game time, have offered no lineup on social media. And sorry, dear readers, I’m not gonna search too hard for it, all apologies.
Ballgame is on the usual channels, starting at 8:38 p.m. CT.
