UK weather: Exact date temperatures hit 24C in final blast of summer sunshine before colder weather returns

SUNSEEKERS are set to enjoy one final blast of summer sunshine as temperatures soar to 24C.

After a chilly start to the week, the weather is making a U-turn, with the mercury steadily rising.

Despite foggy and cold conditions this morning, high pressure is building across the UK, bringing fine and dry weather with warm autumnal sunshine.

By Thursday, London is expected to bask in temperatures as high as 24C, giving Brits one last chance to soak up the summer vibes.

Today’s temperatures are already on the rise, with the capital reaching a comfortable 22C, and much of the country enjoying sunny spells.

However, a yellow fog warning was in place this morning across the northwest of England and northern Wales, causing a murky start for many.

Thankfully, the fog is expected to lift by lunchtime, leaving plenty of sunshine for the rest of the day.

As the week progresses, the weather remains largely settled.

Tuesday will see temperatures maintain a pleasant 21C, with sunny conditions expected to change to partly cloudy by the early evening.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the country will bask in the warmth, with London hitting the week’s high of 24C on Thursday.

However, the warm spell isn’t limited to the South.

Even Scotland and Northern Ireland are set to enjoy temperatures of up to 20C this week, with sunny spells bringing a sense of warmth to the usually cooler regions.

While Thursday will mark the peak of this warm spell, the sunshine doesn’t disappear just yet.

The sun will hold strong until Friday, with London enjoying 22C.

The North, however, will start to see a slight change.

Newcastle and Glasgow will turn cloudy, but temperatures will remain between 16C and 17C.

Liverpool will still feel warm at 19C, and Cardiff is expected to hit 21C with plenty of sun.

As we head into the weekend, temperatures will gradually start to drop. But the sun isn’t going anywhere just yet.

London will still see a pleasant 22C on Saturday, with sunny skies forecasted across the UK.

The cooling trend becomes more noticeable by Monday, with temperatures dropping to 19C in London.
