‘Big Brother 26’ episode 28 recap: Who won Week 9 HOH on September 15? [LIVE BLOG]
Heading into the 28th episode of “Big Brother 26,” outgoing Head of Household Chelsie Baham had just succeeded in sending Quinn Martin to the jury house by a 4-to-2 vote over Kimo Apaka. All of the eligible players were about to embark on the next Head of Household competition, where the ultimate winner would have to nominate two people for eviction. So who won the Week 9 HOH on September 15? Let’s go!

9:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Big Brother’!” In the 27th episode, Julie was out sick with Covid, so Jerry O’Connell stepped in as a temporary replacement. After Makensy used her Veto to save Angela, Chelsie ended up replacing her with a much bigger target: Quinn. Quinn spent the next few days campaigning for votes, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. Cam, Makensy, Rubina and T’Kor voted to evict Quinn, while Angela and Leah were outnumbered in voting to oust Kimo. “I was a liar to my core,” Quinn admitted in his exit interview with Jerry. But enough about last week — it’s time to find out who wins the Week 9 HOH competition!
9:05 p.m. – Following Quinn’s eviction, Leah was left on the opposite side of the vote for the second week in a row when the majority of the house made the decisions to take out her two closest allies. Feeling alone, Leah told Makensy and Angela she wasn’t ready to talk about it regardless of how they voted. Later, when Angela went to Makensy, Cam and Chelsie to tell them she really wanted Quinn to go home and was also on the wrong side of the vote because she thought that’s where the majority was going. But Chelsie shot back at Angela for “saying the same thing every week” because this was the same story she told last week.
9:09 p.m. – Angela overheard T’Kor, Rubina and Kimo all whispering and so she interrupted them to explain that she thought it was in the house’s best interest to vote Kimo out and that their trio is a huge threat. She added that she knows they’re going to nominate her anyway so it doesn’t really matter.
9:11 p.m. – The houseguests were introduced to their temporary A.I. buddy Jankie who promised “the best time ever” with a lot of fun stuff. When they went to the backyard they saw games, sweet treats, a dance floor and everything else you’d find at a carnival. In “Jankie World,” the reality was that they were now locked in the backyard for the entire week and would have to endure all of the fun without escape.
9:16 p.m. – The first lesson for the week was that whenever Jankie calls for a sing-along, they must sing his song and when he calls for a dance party, they must dance. They also soon realized that it would be ice cream and pizza for every meal, sleeping on cots and showering in an outdoor public shower. Then, Jankie asked them to make s’mores throughout the week in a “Getting Toasted” HOH endurance comp. To be named the next HOH they’d have to hold an oversized marshmallow up against a hot pad with nothing but a stick longer than anyone else.
9:20 p.m. – The first one to drop their marshmallow was T’Kor at the 28 minute mark. Kimo was next to drop at the 1 hour 10 minute mark. The third person to drop was Makensy at the 2 hour and 28 minute mark.
9:28 p.m. – Among the four left, deals started flying across the backyard. Angela offered for her and Cam to drop if Rubina guarantees they won’t be nominated, but Cam was mad that she threw his name into it. After five hours all four still remained until T’Kor distracted Rubina and she lost her focus and dropped. Leah, Angela and Cam continued on, but Cam was still not willing to make a deal to drop, but Angela got all three of them to agree that none of them will be nominated because they all lasted so long.
9:32 p.m. – At nine hours day started to break and the final three began to wonder how much longer they could compete. This was the point that Angela decided to “gracefully step down” because she’s been HOH before and she rather one of the other two have their first. She officially stepped down at the 9 hour and 43 minute mark. In order to quicken the comp, Cam and Leah decided to do “one leg up” to see who could better balance. At the 9 hour and 55 minute mark, Cam succumbed to the pressure of the comp, lost his balance, and dropped. His loss meant Leah won and became the next HOH.
9:40 p.m. – Feeling like she has “no secure foundation in the game,” Leah was relieved that finally she’d be able to use her power to figure out where everyone stands. Despite losing, Cam felt safe with Leah and Angela was banking that her dropping and giving away the HOH as well as the public deal they made would keep her safe as well. The trio of T’Kor, Kimo and Rubina knew that at least one of them was likely to be in jeopardy and Chelsie was nervous that Leah would be coming for her because of last week. And Makensy realized she might be in the clear because Leah was quick to ask her where her head is at.
9:50 p.m. – Chelsie pulled Leah for a chat to guarantee to her that she won’t be nominated if she wins HOH next week. Leah told her that she sees the trio as the best direction to go this week because otherwise they control the majority going forward. Later, Rubina tried to get Leah to see that working with the trio could be “beneficial,” but Leah was not buying that angle because she would be an obvious fourth to the other three. Then, both Cam and Makensy put Rubina and Kimo’s names out there as the best options for noms. Angela was the first to suggest T’Kor’s name to Leah, which appealed to her because she sees T’Kor as unbeatable against anyone in the end.
9:56 p.m. – At the “nomination game,” Leah put the rings around the bottles of Rubina and Kimo to signify her nominees. She said that she cares about both of them and it’s “incredibly hard” to make nominations at this point in the season. In the diary room, Leah explained that their trio is too powerful with so few people in the house.
