Manhattan makes traffic game plan before K-State game
TOPEKA (KSNT) - As the K-State Wildcats prepare for Friday's game against Arizona, the City of Manhattan is has a plan to try and ease postgame traffic.
Manhattan has created a game plan to try and make driving around the Little Apple a little easier for fans and residents alike. According to a post from the City of Manhattan's Facebook post, some roads near Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be closed.
The city expects arterial roads in and out of Manhattan to be at full capacity Friday, Sept. 13. The City of Manhattan is asking drivers that will not be associated with the game to avoid Kimball, College and North Manhattan Avenues and find alternate routes.
Rush hour traffic across all of Manhattan Friday is expected to be heavy for the 7 p.m. K-State game against Arizona. Congestion on roads is expected to start around noon and will stay that way until late Friday night.
To keep an eye on traffic throughout Manhattan, drivers can view traffic cameras throughout the city. The City of Manhattan encourages drivers to get to their destination earlier in the day, if possible.
The Kansas Department of Transportation also issued a construction alert on Thursday, Sept. 12 ahead of the game. You can learn more about what road work projects will impact game day traffic by clicking here.
