BEAUTY stores are filled with an abundance of heat products.

However, some of these products aren’t necessarily good for hair growth, especially if they are not used correctly. 

Using high temperatures can damage the outer layer of the hair, dulling its texture and stripping it of its natural moisture, which can make it dry and brittle.

Which is could by why the #hairtips is now trending on TikTok with over 236,600 thousands posts with many other beauty fans revealing how they managed to get their hair in a better condition. 

A beauty fan, known as @lainsssss on TikTok, is one of them as she explained she had to repair her “extremely damaged hair.”

She showed off her hair transformation by presenting before and after pictures. 

In the first two pictures it was clear that her hair was short and straggly, but now she has transformed the condition into long, luscious brunette locks. 

The beauty fans claim to have used the ‘BIG 3’ hack and have since never looked back. 

She first started off by saying that although it’s an “obvious” tip, she now doesn’t use “heat” on her hair everyday. 

The beauty fan’s first tip is to wrap a silk scarf at night time around her hair, or a bonnet. 

Beauty experts have previously revealed that using a silk scarf can help to reduce friction against the hair which can prevent tangling and breakage. 

They also believe it can help retain moisture as well as protect the hair ends at night.

Silk scarves can also regulate temperature which will prevent your scalp from getting too hot or too cold. 

Her second tip is to make sure she was not wearing her hair too tightly by having loose buns. 

The beauty fan’s third tip was urging those who do use heat on their hair to make sure they “protect their hair.” 

Her two favourite products are B&B Straight Blow Dry, £28, and B&B Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil, £30, both from Bumble and Bumble. 

Excessive heat damage

Fabulous previously revealed a little-known remedy for stimulating hair growth which involves a popular autumnal food: pumpkin. 

Ghanima Abdullah, a cosmetologist at The Right Hairstyles Magazine, shared several unconventional hacks for achieving longer locks without a trip to the salon. 

Abdullah, originally from Chicago but now living in the Dominican Republic, emphasised the importance of avoiding damaging habits such as tight pulling, chemical treatments, excessive heat, and frequent shampooing, all of which can harm hair follicles.

Instead, Abdullah recommended using effective products to stimulate hair growth.

“Once you stop damaging practices, use hair growth serums or oils at night to encourage more hair growth,” she advised.

“These can be simple oils like coconut or pumpkin seed oil, enhanced with a few drops of essential oils known to promote hair growth and maintenance, such as rosemary, black seed, peppermint, and lavender.”

Abdullah also recommended a DIY hair serum made at home by mixing a few drops of essential oils with natural aloe vera, flaxseed gel, or fenugreek gel.

‘It’s unconventional’

She advised shampooing only once a month or every other month to avoid stripping the natural oils from the scalp and hair, which are necessary for “healthy, strong, long hair.”

“It’s unconventional, but try not to shampoo your hair,” she said.

Shampoo is corrosive to the inner core of the hair. It’s alkaline, which means it lifts the hair cuticle and goes inside the hair.

This can cause corrosion to the sensitive inner core, leading to damage or split ends.

It’s also corrosive to the hair follicles, which means that as long as you’re using shampoo regularly, your hair will continue to decrease in quality.”
