I like two tried-and-true grandma products for skincare – they’re really worth your while for beauty on a budget
A BEAUTY fan has revealed the classic skincare products that have earned her and grandma’s stamp of approval.
The drugstore staples have not only stood the test of time, but they are also great options for those on a budget.
A Reddit user is a major fan of her tried-and-true grandma products from Nivea and Dove (stock image)[/caption]Redditor TekFlower shared her favorite affordable brands while responding to a post from another user looking for “broke b***h beauty tips.”
“The tried-and-true grandma brands are worth your while,” she wrote, recommending products from Nivea and Dove.
“I like Nivea Soft moisturizer and the Dove plant milk bars, but the old Dove beauty bar is lovely too,” she noted.
That wasn’t the extent of her praise.
“French pharmacy brands like LaRoche-Posay, BioDerma, Avène, etc are also really good,” she added.
Other Redditors agreed, saying they also prefer older beauty brands.
“I spent a week in a rehab hospital about 20 years ago and had a roommate for a few days that was 93,” one recalled.
“She used Pond’s cold cream on her face twice a day, and her skin was incredibly beautiful. She said that was all she had ever used.”
The Redditor said she bought some ASAP and is still using it to this day.
“I just put it on last, on top of all the other things I’m using. I also used Oil of Olay back in the day,” she said.
AT-HOME HELP
TekFlower also shared the DIY treatments that can help “smooth those forehead wrinkles.”
“You can do microneedling, red light therapy, microcurrent, and radio frequency treatments at home if you invest in the tools,” she said.
She recommended watching YouTube videos on home beauty treatments and makeup reviews for more tips.
