All Those Bennifer Separation Rumors Were True
By now, you've surely heard the news that—after months of dizzying rumors, divorce speculation, and paparazzi snaps of one very grumpy-looking Boston boy—Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially called it quits. Or, in other words...Bennifer is bover.
“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” a source told People. “He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.”
Lopez officially filed for divorce on Tuesday, which was also the second anniversary of their Georiga wedding. She listed April 26, 2024, as the date of separation. On May 17, Jezebel published "The Bennifer Alarm Bells Are Ringing," which noted that, at that point, the couple hadn't been "photographed together in a month and a half." From there, they spent an entire summer not being photographed together, with J.Lo traveling solo (and commercial!!) to Paris Fashion Week, and celebrating her birthday without Ben, an occasion she marked with a very long, very emotional, and very telling Instagram caption. Meanwhile, Ben just kept getting photographed walking in and out of his Los Angeles office—sometimes he was wearing his wedding, sometimes he wasn't.
TMZ reported that the couple doesn't have a prenup and that J.Lo opted to waive spousal support and also asked the judge to deny Affleck spousal support. They don't have any children together, but their five kids in total have all accepted it, according to Page Six.
