7/30/2024: Warm, humid, afternoon storms
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Some dry time this morning with high pressure set up to our south - but winds from the south pump in plenty of warmth and humidity as the day progresses.
Expect highs in the upper 80's, feeling more like the low 90's with that humidity accounted for. IN the mid to late afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will likely fire up. North of the Capital District, one or two could be on the stronger side with heavy rain and gusty winds.
Tonight, more on and off showers and downpours. With clouds and continued humidity, temperatures struggle to drop - only down into the low 70's in the river valleys, and only mid to upper 60's in the higher terrain.
Tomorrow looks unsettled, with less sun keeping temperatures a few degrees cooler. More scattered showers and storms are possible through the afternoon and evening.
We'll finally dry out for Thursday and Friday. Showers and storms are back in the mix for Saturday and Sunday. While humidity drops a bit, it still looks muggy through the weekend.
Monday looks nicer - still warm, with temperatures peaking in the mid 80's - but humidity finally eases up.
