Microness for today but look out for tomorrow

No surf this morning, which is exactly in line with the forecast. But by tomorrow afternoon we should be seeing obvious signs of what is shaping to be a very substantial, multi-day south swell event. Sunday morning will probably look like today, and depending on just what the low does, it may stay that way until late in the day. Thereafter expect nuttiness. Monday morning the Bureau predicts we’ll have 4-6 metres of south swell and howling SW winds. The GFS model is showing the swell staying around the 4 metre mark into Thursday with the energy still being in the 3 metre range on Friday. Winds remain SW throughout in the forecasts and weather is cloudy/showery too. Oh, and air temps are currently shown as not getting out of the mid-teens until Friday at least.
Pretty obviously the coming week is unlikely to offer anything for beginners, or most intermediates.

Weather Situation
A weak trough lies over the northeast of the state and the north coast. A strong cold front will cross eastern New South Wales later today and into early Sunday before entering the Tasman Sea, then a deep low pressure system is forecast to form within the front and become slow moving while a strong high pressure ridge enters the west and becomes the dominant feature across the inland through the first half of the new week. This will generate vigorous south to southwesterly airstream as well and large powerful southerly swells through the first half of the new week.
