I had romantic chats with Joey Essex but they were edited out, says Casa Amor girl after being dumped from Love Island
FORMER Love Island Diamante Laiva has revealed that she had some romantic words with Joey Essex, but the conversation didn’t make the cut.
The 21-year-old appeared on the ITV 2 spin-off show, Aftersun last night, where she told how she’d bonded with Joey, but the scenes were wiped out by the producers.
In conversation with show host Maya Jama, she said: “What you guys didn’t see was that I actually had really nice chats with everyone and out of everyone the best chats came from Sean and Joey.”
To which Maya replied: “Ooooh what happened with Joey?” Diamante then said: “It was very brief, but the best chat came from Sean.”
After her comments aired, a host of fans rushed on social media to comment. One said: “Watching After sun and Diamante said she and Joey had conversations???”
Another said, “They obviously want Joey to win.”
Meanwhile another commented. “Joey’s agent is now working overtime.”
The business owner’s Love Island dream came to an end last week, after her chosen partner Sean, decided to recouple with Matilda Draper.
When asked if she was surprised to have not been picked, she said in her exit interview:
“I actually was, when Sean was giving his speech he said he was confused, and he was saying he found connections in Casa and as he was saying that I was thinking, ‘Are we about to couple up?’
“I think he chose the safe option to stick with Matilda. He’s perhaps not as genuine as we all thought he was…”
But Diamante, had one last parting shot for Matilda before she left the villa for good. She said: “Its ok, you can have him, because he’s just going to do the same to you.”
