‘Trying to make me poor again’ shoppers cry as Matalan launch huge summer sale with ‘nearly everything’ at 50% off
NOW summer is here, you may be looking to spruce up your wardrobe.
If you are looking to bag a bargain, you may wish to head to Matalan, which currently has a 50 per cent off sale on.
Shoppers have been sharing photos of the discounts in store, showing the racks of reduced clothing.
Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one bargain hunter wrote: “Huge 50 per cent off nearly everything in Matalan today at Kingston park.”
Included in the sale were half price tops, dresses and shoes.
And the deal isn’t only on adults’ clothes, as the shopper showed how there were savings to be had in the kids’ section too.
Their post has racked up numerous likes, and many people seemed to snap up some bargains.
One wrote: “I have to get myself there.”
Another added: “Trying to make me poor again.”
And a third commented: “let’s go.”
Don’t worry if you can’t make it into stores as the sale is also taking place online.
It’s arguably one of the most popular high-street fashion stores.
But when it comes to its name, people are getting it wrong on a regular basis.
The Matalan TikTok page shared a video of a store front, writing over the top: “Our name is Matalan but we also go by…”
The next slide then had “Mataland” written all over it.
“Special shout out to Matt & Alan too,” they added in the caption.
And in the comments section, people admitted they have been guilty of using the wrong name in the past.
“OMG I call it Mataland,” one wrote.
To which Matalan replied: “You’re part of a very big club!”
“My mother in law called it Mataland, she also says Primart,” another laughed.
“Told my son we were going to Mataland and he was so excited, until we pulled up,” a third commented.

“A lady that works at my local one told me and my children it was because the owner had two brothers called matt and Allan and now they tell everyone!” someone else wrote.
To which Matalan replied: “Unfortunately, she’s a fibber!”
“I worked at Matalan for 6 years way back when I was at college/uni my dad called it Mataland all the time I was there!!” another laughed.
