Redditor Hypatia76 shared the anti-aging tip in a post.

She explained that she adds a secret ingredient to her coffee and has noticed a huge improvement in her skin.

“Honestly, the single most effective and long-lasting skin-plumping effect I’ve had has been from collagen powder in my coffee every morning,” she said.

“It took about two weeks to see results, but they’re better than anything I’ve used topically.”

She added that she’s also noticed other areas of improvement besides her skin.

“My hair is also getting thicker. I started with collagen originally because my orthopedic surgeon recommended it to me.

“[I’m a] lifelong runner, and at 47, I’ve had two ankle surgeries and constantly run through repetitive stress pain).

“The skin results are a bonus!”

She revealed that her go-to collagen brand is Vital Proteins’ Beauty Collagen Powder.

“I mix with a hydration packet from key nutrients,” she said.

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.

She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.  

“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.

Dr. Moore’s skincare staples:

“Quick details: I have Lupus and have been losing my hair since I was 19; it falls out in handfuls, then stops for a little while, then falls out again; it has always been sparse and thin and has even had patches,” she said.

“Diet doesn’t seem to help, or medication, but I started the Autoimmune Protocol medical diet, and it was recommended to take collagen.

“I can’t speak for everyone, but this works for me, and I have a serious autoimmune illness that is working against it.

“I would recommend waiting to judge it because hair and nail cells are rapidly dividing cells that take at least 4-6 weeks to go from birth to death (i.e. they take a while to input new nutrients and output them at new growth time).”

The process, she warned, can take more time than one would expect.

“You need to give it time, take two scoops a day, and get through the period where you break out a bit as your skin adjusts to the new product and increase in collagen,” she said.
