‘Outright insanity’ people say over ‘unique’ list of baby names woman is considering for her child – including Urf
A MAN has shared how his whole family ghosted her cousin after she proudly listed her baby’s monikers, including Urf.
The man was left ”gobsmacked” after hearing the ”unique” names his relative has allegedly picked out for her future child.
He said that his cousin has been coming up with a list of potential baby monikers – and all chuffed with the candidates, she decided to share them with their family on a group chat.
Unfortunately for the woman, it seems that the bizarre names were not to everyone’s taste, as the entire family left her on ‘read’.
Sharing the incident on Reddit, the man said: “My cousin wants a unique name for her future daughter.
”Mission accomplished! I feel bad because at least she has put some thought into these names, especially compared to how most of us were named.
”On the other hand, well, you saw the names.”
The man described the names a ”tragedeigh” – a term used to describe a moniker that’s “deliberately misspelled or completely made up to appear more unique than it actually is” – however, the cousin doesn’t seem to be too bothered about it.
Sharing the list of five names, as well as their personal meanings, the gobsmacked person wrote: “Urf (Earth because no matter where the child lives in life, it will always be on Earth.
”Can’t fault the logic on that one. Elon Musk might take umbrage though.”
There was also a business-inspired moniker – “Seaeoh” (CEO), as the mum strongly believed the name would ”dictate destiny” and ”will cosmically transform the child into a successful business magnet”.
The third potential pick, the man revealed, was Stamp. And whilst it may sound totally strange, the moniker actually has a cute meaning.
As explained by the Redditor, the cousin was in a long-distance relationship with the father of the child and ”they used to send each other letters with…stamps”.
”Sounds like what a caveman character in a film would be called,” he remarked.
The last two options on the bizarre list included Biotic – to ”protect the child from disease” – as well as Ayeai (AI), as the mother reckoned that this was where the world was headed towards.
”In the future AI will take over and if it turns nasty it will go easy on her kid because they share a name,” the man explained her thinking.

At 35 weeks pregnant, by far the trickiest part of pregnancy for me in the past few months (minus the insomnia and countless night-time wee breaks!) has been trying to decide on a baby name.
The dilemmas are endless…
My partner and I went for a private scan to find out the gender as early as we could – partly due to the fact we thought it would make baby naming so much easier because we’d only have to come up with a list of names for one gender rather than two.
How wrong we were…
I was absolutely thrilled to be told I was expecting the baby girl I’d already dreamed of, but being one of the last of my friends to fall pregnant, I’ve had countless conversations over the years with excited pals discussing their top baby names…something which I wish I could go back in time and un-hear.
With each friend mentioning at least 10 possible monikers, I can’t help but feel like several are now a no-go even though I know it’s something that none of them would mind in the slightest – it’s a total me problem!
The debate comes up time and time again on social media forums – can you choose the same name that was a ‘potential’ for a friend’s baby?
It’s a very divisive topic and opinions are always mixed…and I don’t want to be THAT person.
While some will argue there’s thousands of other names out there to choose from, others will say you need to choose YOUR favourite…after all, there’s no guarantee that person will even have another baby.
Then there’s also the issue of finding a name you adore…only to research it online and read one negative comment amongst hundreds of positives that you just can’t shake off.
I made that very mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t reveal it because I don’t want to ruin it for others!) …only to see someone point out that it constantly gets autocorrected on a phone to something rather rude instead. So, back to the drawing board we went..
Just five weeks to go and it looks like our little one is going to be known as ‘baby gal’ for a little while longer!
“Her logic is that so many children nowadays have unique names that it will eventually become normal and people with ‘standard’ names will be the ones looking foolish. Again, perhaps there is some logic to this.
“The father is utterly henpecked and I assume isn’t brave enough to say anything.
”I doubt two people could agree on any of these.”
While the majority of social media users expressed their shock over the names, others shared a thought for the cousin’s future daughter, insisting the uncommon monikers could stunt her in life.
One user said: “Joke names are fine and dandy for pets, toys, drag queens and Sims.”
Another chimed in: “I say this in the kindest way possible. She is delusional and I dare say, stupid.
”That poor future child deserves better.”
A third user said: “Unemployable might work as a middle name with those.”
