Major update in headless torso ‘murder’ probe as cops launch another search at park in ‘relentless pursuit’ for answers
COPS have scoured another Salford park with cadaver dogs amid their “relentless pursuit” for answers in the Kersal Dale ‘murder’ probe.
Stuart Everett’s severed body parts were strewn across four different locations in Greater Manchester.
Grim discoveries were made at Chesterfield Close, Winton; Blackleach Country Park and Old Linnyshaw Colliery Woods in Walkden; and Boggart Hole Clough in Blackley, north Manchester.
Today, specialist teams with cadaver dogs were deployed to Buile Hill Park in connection with the investigation.
The 67-year-old is believed to have died at a house in Worsley Road, Winton, at the end of March.
Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, were charged with murder at Manchester Crown Court in April.
It is understood the two defendants are known to Stuart, who may have died at the house they reportedly shared.
They have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Manchester Crown Court on July 18, when they are expected to enter a plea.
Last month cops carried out a “further detailed search” in an area of Worsley Woods known as the Roe Green Loopline.
It comes after a headless torso was found wrapped in plastic by a passer-by in Kersal Dale Wetlands on April 4.
Police then revealed that further human remains had been discovered but did not disclose any other information.
A dogwalker later found a “package” containing some of the man’s severed body in Colliery Wood.
It came a day after officers found remains at Blackleach Reservoir.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers have meticulously trawled through CCTV footage which has led us to start searching Buile Hill Park in Salford and detectives continue their relentless pursuit of finding answers for Stuart’s family.”
Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes of GMP’s Serious Crime Division, said: “We are three months into our investigation into the death of Stuart Everett and our thoughts continue to remain with his family, we are keeping them updated in every stage of our investigation.
“So far, we have conducted searches of 16 locations across Salford and Manchester to find more evidence that supports our enquiries in finding out how Stuart came to his death.
“We have said since the start that we will be thorough in our approach to searching any locations of significance to the investigation and this will continue.
“I would like to thank the communities across Greater Manchester, especially members of the public in Salford, who have shown us unwavering support throughout the investigation.
“Our focus will always be on finding out what happened to Stuart and how he met his death. We will continue to work diligently to search for more evidence, investigate any lines of enquiry and support Stuart’s family through this difficult time.”
