Bumbling Joe Biden squints at watch at 9:09pm during July 4 fireworks after telling Dems he can’t work events after 8pm
DISTRESSING photos showed Joe Biden squinting at his watch during a late Fourth of July celebration a day after the disoriented president reportedly told top Democrats he can’t work events after 8 pm.
The Biden family, Vice President Kamala Harris, and others enjoyed the White House‘s Independence Day fireworks display from the Truman Balcony on the South Lawn on Thursday evening.
But, for President Biden, the late evening occasion may have spoiled his plans to stop scheduling events after 8 pm.
The White House’s Fourth of July celebration dragged on until 9:09 pm, according to the president’s official schedule log.
Biden reportedly told Democratic governors in a meeting that he needed to get more sleep and work fewer hours.
The 81-year-old president made the disturbing remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with more than two dozen of his important supporters, according to The New York Times.
During the meeting, Biden detailed his extensive foreign travel schedule in the weeks before the presidential debate.
At one point, Hawaii Governor Josh Greeh asked him about his health, to which Biden replied that he was fine.
“It’s just my brain,” Biden said, which some attendees at the meeting took lightly, according to the outlet.
In response to the reports, a Biden-Harris campaign spokesman backed the president’s efforts to get a better sleep schedule.
“President [George W.] Bush went to bed at 9, President [Barack] Obama made dinner at 6:30,” the spokesman told The New York Times.
“Normal presidents strike a balance, and so does Joe Biden.
“Hardly the same rigor as Donald Trump, who spends half of his day ranting on Truth Social about plans that would cause a recession and the other half golfing.”
‘I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE’
Biden’s latest remarks have only fueled the concerns of supporters, who have called on him to abandon his reelection efforts for the country’s sake.
Donors, allies, and fellow Democrats have pivoted their support for the president after his dismal debate night performance on June 27.
But, despite the growing calls from Democrats for him to drop out of the race, Biden Biden has reassured supporters that he is in good health and still in command of his job as president.
During the July Fourth barbecue at the White House, Biden again signaled he intends to stay the course.
An attendee at the event told Biden, “We need you,” according to CNN.
“You got me,” Biden responded, adding, “I’m not going anywhere.”
Biden's post-debate gaffes
President Joe Biden's gaffes have increased at an alarming rate over the past few years.
- Biden alarmingly described himself as a “Black woman” during a radio interview with Philadelphia station WURD on Thursday.
- “I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman… to serve with a black president,” Biden said, appearing to confuse himself with Vice President Kamala Harris.
- Biden previously served as VP to President Barack Obama, the US’ first black president, which is likely the source of his confusion.
- The president also attempted to go off-script and insult rival, Donald Trump, while addressing military families during the White House’s Fourth of July barbecue.
- While Biden came in strong, he fumbled his word and came crashing down.
- “By the way, you know I was at that World War I cemetery in France and a – the one that one of our colleagues, a former president, didn’t want to go and be up there,” Biden said in an apparent dig at former president Donald Trump.
- “I probably shouldn’t even say that. Anyway,” he continued as his voice dimmed.
- After shocking the audience, he quickly went back on script and tried to get the energy back up.
ALARMING LAPSES
Biden, the oldest president in US history to serve in office, has long faced pressing questions about his age and health.
During the presidential debate, his performance against his processor and rival, Donald Trump, opened the floodgates to more scrutiny.
The White House was forced to deny reports that Biden is considering dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.
The New York Times reported this week that Biden disclosed to a close ally that he is considering stepping aside.
But, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reassured the media on Wednesday that Biden is “clear-eyed and staying in the race.”
Biden’s lapses have increased with time as the confused commander-in-chief recently described himself as a “Black woman” during a radio interview.
The president appeared to mix himself up with Kamala Harris during the awkward chat with Philadelphia station WURD on Thursday.

He previously served as vice president to Barack Obama, the US’ first black president, which is likely the source of his confusion.
The radio interview was Biden’s first since his disastrous debate with Trump, 78.
He told WURD, “I had a bad debate. But 90 minutes on stage doesn’t erase what I’ve done for three and a half years.”
Biden will sit down with Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos on Friday for his first televised interview since the debate.
