LadBaby Mum shares the handbag-sized Primark product that keeps her flyaway hairs in place for hours & it’s only £2.50
THERE’S nothing more annoying than doing a chic bun, only for flyaway hairs to ruin the sleek look.
But LadBaby Mum, aka Roxanne Hoyle, has revealed there’s a £2.50 Primark product she swears by to keep her locks neat and tidy.
In a video on her Instagram Stories, Rox showed how she uses the handbag-sized product to tame the wispy bits that had escaped from the bun.
“Found a little handbag hair hack for all us girls who have those ‘fly away hair bits’ that hang from our buns,” Rox wrote over the top of the clip.
She then showed the product she was referring to – Tame from Primark.
Rox also demonstrated how she used the mascara-type product to tidy the flyaways back, before grinning widely as she showed off the finished look.
“It kept my hair neat for a good few hours,” she added.
The product is just one from Primark’s Tame range, which also includes a wax stick you can use on the go.
“The formula is infused with hydrating jojoba oil to help moisturise hair, while the gentle hold that’s provided aims to tame flyaways and baby hairs,” Primark says of the wax stick on their website.
“It arrives in a handy stick design that allows you take this product out and about with ease, so fixing runaway locks is a total breeze no matter where you are.”
If you’re out and about and you don’t have a wax stick to hand, then a lip balm can also be used.
Use your fingers to apply a tiny bit to the locks you want slicked back to avoid getting any of the other hair greasy.
A clear mascara also does the trick, while dryer sheets can be a brilliant hack if you’re at home.
In terms of preparing the hair for a slicked back bun, you should use an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner.
The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.
The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.
Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process begins again.
And a hair mask every once in a while can be useful as well.
“Hair masks can help treat flyaway hair by providing deep hydration and nourishment to the hair strands, reducing static and smoothing the cuticle,” celebrity hairstylist Valerie Vanessa told Vogue.co.uk.
