Fairytale village a few hours from UK where you can spend night in giant pumpkins and mushrooms – and flights are cheap
IF you’ve ever dreamed of a Cinderella life, then this magical AirBnB in Croatia should be on your bucket list.
In this fairytale village, the giant pumpkin has been transformed into a house instead of a carriage.
Just a short flight away from the UK, tourists can stay in enchanting tiny homes shaped like a pumpkin, mushroom or a miniature castle.
Nestled in the Krka National Park, southern Croatia, these AirBnB homes are nothing short of a dream stay.
The miniature castle boasts all the amenities for a holiday befit a royalty – from two bedrooms with double beds to the garden and orchard.
Inside, there is a fireplace for cosy evenings while the outdoor area has a space for BBQ, sun loungers, firepit and kitchen for an ultimate glamping experience.
One holidaymaker wrote in a review: “Helena and Florijan created a very nice, loving place. We felt very comfortable.
“The outdoor kitchen and great houses make the place very special. Highly recommended!”
Another one added: “It’s a lovely place to stay. The kids loved the fun cottage and the play park!”
In the same village, the giant orange rounded house, resembling a pumpkin, has also charmed visitors.
The unique home is only a short distance away from the beach, and is equipped with air conditioning, free internet and kitchen.
The tiny space manages to fit two beds which can accommodate four guests and one bathroom.
Despite its humble size, the AirBnB provides all the essentials, with the exception of hot water.
One person said: “My favourite place I’ve stayed at on Airbnb. So unique and great use of space.
“For such a small space it had everything and even with two people it rarely felt like we bumped into each other.”
Another reviewer said: “We had an amazing night in the pumpkin house!
“The home was very cosy and comfortable. We arrived to some snacks, enjoyed an evening of reading on the large bed, and slept wonderfully (very quiet and isolated).
“We went the next morning to Krka National Park.”
The mushroom-shaped residence, reminiscent of a red-and-white toadstool, offers two bedrooms which can sleep five people.
The interior features a kitchen and bathroom as well as a TV, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, baby bath, window guards and kids’ toys and books.
It includes a private patio which open up to views over the vineyard and garden.
In a review, a British holidaymaker commented: “Probably the cutest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in!
“It was even better than the photos, the kids absolutely loved it, and we had a beautiful view of the stars at night.
“The location is ideal for visiting Krka National Park, and there are some lovely old towns and beaches not too far away.”
One night in one of the small houses will set you back anywhere between £93 and £104 during the peak summer season.
The Krka National Park itself is a perfect getaway from the bustle and hustle of the city.
Spanning along the Krka river, the nature reserve is renowned for a series of seven picturesque waterfalls.
The breathtaking falls with their turquoise waters are adorned by the surrounding greenery of the lush forest.
Nature lovers can also enjoy the diverse wildlife as they hike up the quiet trails within the park.
