Roku fans admit ‘I am astounded’ over instant way to upgrade TV with long list of perks they ‘100% would recommend’
ROKU has released a much-awaited update to its remote, and users have been hailing it as “the best ever”.
Customers looking to get their hands on the latest tech can switch to the new Roku Pro Remote 2. The device was announced in April and is finally available to the public.
The Roku Pro Remote 2 aims to simplify the television-watching experience.
It features a dedicated button that brings watchers to the Roku Guide to access their OTA Antenna and streaming channels in one place.
The remote boasts motion-activated backlit buttons that turn on when you pick it up.
Among other updates are a USB-C charging port, replacing the old micro-USB version, and a rocket ship-stamped button that jumps to your two most-used apps.
While voice control is nothing new – it has been available on Roku remotes since 2021 – users seem to think this version has perfected it.
Saying “Hey Roku” activates the remote and allows you to control your streaming using just your voice.
Alternatively, saying “Hey Roku, where’s my remote?” can help you locate a lost device. It can also be tracked through the Roku Mobile app.
The remote is included with the latest Roku Pro TVs but it is also available separately for purchase.
The Roku Pro Remote 2 can be found on Amazon, where it has debuted to overwhelmingly positive reviews.
One commenter, who claimed to be a Roku TV user since 2020, said they had only used the remote for a few hours “and it’s already enhancing my experience”.
“I am also astounded by the light-up buttons,” the user wrote. “It has sensors built-in, so when I pick it up, I am able to see the buttons that I’m pushing at night.”
Another user deemed it “the best Roku remote ever”.
