John Geiger Drops Eye-Catching ‘Melon’ 004 Sneakers Just in Time for Summer
With the summer here, John Geiger is ready to deliver a bold-colored iteration of his eponymous imprint’s 004 sneaker in hues synonymous with the hotter months.
Before month’s end, the designer will release the 004 — a high-end sneaker designed for everyday wear — in a “Melon” colorway, a look dressed in peach, red and green hues. The uppers are predominantly green and feature hits of peach and red throughout, and the shoe is completed with a white midsole and black outsole. The brand’s design DNA also comes through in the yellow zigzag stitching, as well as its white and black laces.
In terms of the sneaker’s construction, the 004 — one that Geiger said is his best work yet — is built with layered durable KPU and breathable mesh uppers. Underfoot, the shoe was designed with white EVA popcorn layer midsoles and fully redesigned black rubber tread outsoles. Specifically for the sole unit, Geiger explained this was created using proprietary 0-Tex process of pairing the popcorn midsole with the rubber outsole to offer the wearer both comfort and stability. (The “0” in 0-Tex is a nod to the use of the number at the start of every model the designer releases.)
The John Geiger 004 “Melon” arrives June 28 at 12 p.m. ET via Johngeigerco.com and will retail for $250.
