I nabbed £1.1k worth of clothes for £130 in a fancier high street sale now strangers are begging me to shop for them too
A SHOPPER was left shocked after she managed to nab a staggering £1,160 worth of clothes for just £130 in River Island’s supersale.
TikTok user @kamarakayy uploaded a video showing the incredible bargains, with items priced £10 and below.
Her clip, which has racked up over 800,000 views, shows racks upon racks of discounted items.
The first thing she picked up were some heeled black boots which were £55 down to a tenner.
Next up was a coat that had been priced £99, but was now around a tenth of the price.
The fashion lover also got a pair of £65 flat boot, £75 heeled boots, an £85 coat, a £110 puffer coat, a £44 kids coat, a £99 coat,
And it wasn’t just clothes that Kamara found.
The TikToker also got a pair of Babyliss Curling Tongs that were £180, but again, down to £10.
Many people were impressed at her haul, with one person writing: “Buy for me please.”
Another added: “Wow.”
She wasn’t the only person to walk away with some incredible deals.
Other bargain hunters were left open-mouthed when shopping in River Island when they noticed the staggering £10 sale.
With a variety of items included, such as coats and blazers, as well as kids’ clothes, shoppers went wild in the sale and took to social media to show off their bargain buys.
Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, a private Facebook group with a whopping 2.4 million members, fashion fans shared their huge hauls.
One shopper named Victoria Molyneux shared a snap of her car boot, full to the brim with River Island shopping bags.
Alongside the post, Victoria penned: “River island all sale £10. Everything on sale is £10.”
She then explained: “Loads of nice items for myself, kids and family.”
In another post, upon arriving home, Victoria then shared snaps of her purchases.
The fashionista shared her post with the caption: “River island all sale £10.
This exact sale has sadly ended and was in stores only.
However, River Island currently has a summer sale on, and you can shop it online today.
History of River Island
IT'S a well-known name on the high street, but did you know that River Island used to be called something completely different?
The fashion retailer actually started out as two separate clothing stores, which only joined forces to become the brand we now know and love in 1988.
The company behind it dates back to 1948, when British entrepreneur Bernard Lewis opened up his first clothes shop in Mare Street, Hackney, in east London.
At the age of 20, he’d launched his debut fruit and vegetable store on Holloway Road in north London, but his foray into fashion proved to be his biggest success.
After expanding to five stores, Bernard called his business Lewis Separates.
During the 1970’s he opened up a chain of clothing stores – 70, to be precise – which he later called Chelsea Girl.
It quickly became one of the UK’s first chain female fashion boutiques.
By 1982, Bernard introduced a further store, called Concept Man, to his portfolio, which offered a range of menswear.
Six years later in 1988, a third brand was formed – this one being called River Island.
A few years later, both Chelsea Girl and Concept Man merged into this one company, which is now run by Bernard’s nephew, Ben Lewis.
Die-hard River Island fans will know that in 2011, Chelsea Girl was re-introduced as a capsule collection within stores.
