Katie Fraine on Rangers (A)
Katie Fraine said she was delighted to help her side to victory after returning from injury against Partick Thistle, and looked forward to testing herself against Rangers.
The goalkeeper made her last appearance in December before injury forced her out of Grant Scott’s side. She returned Starting XI and kept a clean sheet in our impressive 2-0 victory against Partick Thistle a fortnight ago.
“To be able to come back and make an impact on the team, that’s always positive – and to keep a clean sheet – that’s what I’m here to do. I was happy to be able to pull that off."
On her relationship with Nina Wilson, Comfort Erhabor and the rest of the goalkeeping union at the Club – Fraine said the camaraderie around her was positive to see whilst she was out injured.
“We’ve got a really good goalkeeping union here. We all really try hard to support each other, whether we’re the one on the pitch, or the one supporting the player. For me, having that group of girls around, making sure my mental health is stable while I’m off – and me giving my support to Nina whilst she was getting games worked really well.”
On our upcoming match against Rangers, Katie said that whilst the team knew they would have a real fight on their hands, previous matches against the Glasgow outfit showed plenty of promise going into this match.
“We haven’t been able to pull points off of them this year, and they’re coming off of a huge cup win. We showed quite a bit of quality the last time we played them, scored a couple goals, and put them on their heels a little bit.
“Hopefully we can pull that same momentum and take some points off of them this time!”
