And Lucy, a fashion entrepreneur, recalled how his head had been worryingly swollen.’
She said: “The midwife checked me and his head had come out of my cervix that was like a mass of swelling, she was concerned by that because his head looked so swollen and sore. He was going into my cervix like a brick wall. When she checked me in a few hours, it was the same situation.’
The TV star who opted for private healthcare, recalled in terrifying detail how the baby became dangerously distressed. She said: “It got to the point where his heart rate was really high, I was exhausted the alarm was going off in our room you can tell everyone was really worried. They came in and said we need to get him out he’s not in a good way. This is a life or death situation and we need to get him out now.”
But like many women, a caesarean section was not what Lucy had in mind.
She says: “I cried, I didn’t want to have a c section, especially in an emergency situation and I was really worried about my son and I thought there was a chance we were going to lose him and I really worried for my own life as well. But we went through and it all happened really quickly.”
After the operation, the baby was taken away to be checked and the social media star said she was sad not to be the first to hold him.
“It took ten minutes to get him out, they showed him to me but then they have to take him away to check that he’s ok. His head was three times the size of what it is now. Then they stitched me up and it’s an awkward thing you’re being stitched up and you can’t actually seen them. But then they put him on my chest and then he calmed down. James and I were hysterically crying, just so relieved that he was ok.”
The businesswoman and animal rights acitivist starred on Made In Chelsea for for four years between 2012- 2016. After five years of daing she became engaged to James, who also starred on MIC in 2020.
Their nuptials took place before friends and family in a lavish ceremony in Kefalonia Greece in 2021.
