B&M shoppers rush to buy ‘fantastic’ 34p cold weather essential to help keep warm in winter

B&M shoppers are rushing to get their hands on a cold weather essential that costs just 34p and helps you to keep warm in winter.

The bargain retailer is selling two Koolpak hand warmers for 69p, or 34p each.

The items have been reviewed dozens of times online, with shoppers describing them as “fantastic”.

One shopper said: “They get really warm. Opened a pair when got chilly camping.

“They were still warm in the morning so I popped them in my boots to warm them up before I put them back on.”

Another added: “Great handwarmer.”

And a simply wrote: “Wow”.

The hand warmers work as soon as they are taken out of the packet and can provide up to ten hours of warmth, according to B&M.

They’re air-activated and can be used indoors, or they’re ideal for commuting to work or school.

You can also get electronic, reusable hand warmers if you’re happy to spend a little more cash.

These gadgets are often included on the list of products to “heat the human and not the home” along with USB gloves and heated insoles.

We tested the Ocoopa Rechargeable Hand Warmers from Amazon, which cost £23.99.

We found them useful for popping in dressing gown pockets in the evening.

If you want to invest, you can use price comparison sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to price-check items across different retailers.

The Trolley website searches and compares the prices of 130,000 products across all the major shops.

It means it’s a great way to make sure you’re not missing out on a big saving.

Cheap ways to keep warm this winter

There are a few other ways you can keep warm this winter without breaking the bank.

Consider using a hot water bottle, they are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

If you’ve got a few pennies to spare consider getting an electric blanket which is particularly useful in the night.

Don’t forget preventative measures like draught excludes, they stop cold air coming in from underneath draughty doors.

You can get some for as little as a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up will work just as well.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.
