Shannen Doherty Learned About Her Husband's Two-Year Affair at the Worst Possible Time

Shannen Doherty is calling out her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, on the first episode of her new podcast, Let’s Be Clear With Shannen Doherty — and she doesn’t paint a very pretty picture of him. His alleged two-year affair with his talent agent, Collier Grimm, went on during her battle with breast cancer as it spread to her brain. She had a scheduled brain surgery just days after learning that her marriage was “essentially over.”

Noting how “betrayed” she felt, Doherty never considered rescheduling the medical operation even with the emotional toll it took on her. “At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,” she shared while praising her family members and friends for rallying around her during this heartbreaking time. “Just to have to go through all of that while trying to figure out if you’re going to get a f***ing divorce and trying to get to the truth of that,” Doherty continued.

The Beverly Hills 90210 star also became “obsessed” with trying to find out the truth about the affair from both Iswarienko and Grimm. “It was embarrassing,” she added. “I am horrified that I can’t keep a relationship together. I think it is a reflection of me, but this one I think this one is on him. I’ve failed three times at marriage, but I still believe in love.” Doherty had two brief marriages before Iswarienko to Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994, and Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003. She filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April.

She also believes that it was necessary for her to “take responsibility for some of the issues” in the marriage, including her battle with cancer. “I take responsibility not only because of how I was but because of how cancer impacted my marriage and how it impacted him the second time around,” she said.

And it wasn’t easy to leave him either, despite the harsh truths of what he had done to her. “I was so confused, and I was also on steroids and a lot of stuff from brain surgery because they didn’t want my brain to swell,” she frankly revealed. “And honestly, it’s still really hard. Yes, I made the decision to file for divorce, but I have a lot of memories with this person.” Let’s hope Doherty has found the peace and healing she deserves after such a cruel betrayal.
