Synopsis: When her family moves from the city to the suburbs, 11-year-old Margaret navigates new friends, feelings, and the beginning of adolescence.

Bio: Kelly Fremon Craig’s career has included “Streak,” “Post Grad” and “The Edge of Seventeen.”

Flora and Son (Apple Original Films)

Synopsis: A single mom at war with her son is trying to find a hobby for him. One day, she rescues a guitar from a dumpster.

Bio: John Carney’s career has included “Once,” “Begin Again,” “Sing Street” and “Modern Love.”

May December (Netflix)

Synopsis: Twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation, a married couple buckles under pressure when an actress arrives to do research for a film about their past.

Bio: Samy Burch’s career has included “All You Can Eat,” “Bev” and “Crown Prince.”
