Fury as two laughing killers rack up legal bills of up to £400k while victim’s family get just £11k compo
TWO laughing killers racked up legal bills of up to £400,000 — while their victim’s family got just £11,500 compensation.
The grieving mum of murdered student lawyer Sven Badzak yesterday told of her fury at their “reward”.
Drug dealers Rashid Gedel, 22, and Shiroh Ambersley, 23, had already received up to £105,000 in legal aid for a string of crimes, including sex offences and violence.
They then fatally stabbed Sven, 22, who they mistook for a gang rival in Kilburn,North West London.
When a judge sentenced them to life with a minimum of 27 years last month, they laughed, lay down and shouted.
The legal aid bill for the Old Bailey murder trial has not yet been calculated, but experts say it will be around £300,000.
Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday can reveal Sven’s family received just £11,500 from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for their innocent son’s barbaric murder in February 2021.
His mother Jasna, 50, said: “I’m beyond furious.
“These two individuals have just laughed all the way along.
“It’s shocking.
“The criminal justice system in this country rewards bad people.
“They had already committed almost every crime going before they murdered my son.”
Tory MP Conor Burns added: “We must ensure the rights of the innocent are not treated lightly.
“When the balance shifts too far the public can easily lose confidence.”
