Death in Paradise star teases return of fan favourite in new video
DEATH in Paradise is set to return later this year, and it has been teased that one much-loved character could be stepping back on the island.
The 13th season of Death in Paradise is in the works and a Christmas special is set to broadcast later this year.
The cast is yet to be fully announced, but a little behind-the-scenes video has got fans chomping at the bit at one potential former cast member returning.
Elizabeth Bourgine, who has played Catherine Bordey in the show since 2011, took to social media yesterday (June 1) to show a video with her on-screen daughter Camille Bordey played by actress Sara Martins.
Sara played Detective Sergeant Camille on the Island of Saint Marie from 2011 until 2021. The actress has since appeared in a few episodes of Citadel among other shows.
Elizabeth has already confirmed she is staying on, so is her on-screen daughter set to return long-term as well?
She shared a picture holding the script on May 22 and said: “First shooting day for Catherine Bordey #tomorrow! First day of tournage [filming in French] for me tomorrow!”
The video Elizabeth shared on her Instagram shows her hugging Sara with the caption: “Souvenir Photo Shoot series 10.”
However, the historic video has been posted at a suspect time and has prompted show fans to believe that Sara could be returning.
A loyal viewer asked: “Camille comes back?”
More watchers of the show echoed the same sentiment.
“Would love to see Camille in season 13,” a fan commented, with another taking the video as a sign: “Super, Camille is back.”
A viewer stated: “It would be very nice to see Camille and Catherine together again looking forward to the new season.”
If she did return, it wouldn’t be the first time the star has stepped back on the island.
Camille left Saint Marie when offered a promotion in Paris but briefly returned after her mother was attacked.
Death in Paradise will return later this year on BBC One.
